October comics / Cómics de octubre

Rodin Esquejo
I had more comics in October than in previous months, and I must say that this is the best equation. More comics = more reading pleasure. This month I received the excellent second volume of Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing, which I’ll review properly in future posts. I also enjoyed both Millarworld series, Secret Service and Hit-Girl. And I was very impressed with the first issue of Uncanny Avengers (and it was such a thrill to see Cassaday doing interior art again!). There are only 3 issues left until the end of the first season of Morning Glories, and I’m still very much intrigued. Happy # 1 was so great that I’ll probably review it tomorrow (or the day after that). But if I had to choose the best book of the month then the award would go to The Boys # 71, I can’t really say anything about it without spoiling it, but the final confrontation between the two protagonists of this title is an anthological tour de force through the center of the human condition. Death has never been so poignant and so deliciously controversial as it’s here on Garth Ennis penultimate chapter of Dynamite’s best series. And now, without further ado, here are October comics as per solicitations.
