October Comics / Cómics de octubre

October wasn’t an abundant month for comics, but I really enjoyed re-reading Freakangels. Thor was OK, American Gods was great but Magic Order # 3 was even greater (this the best I’ve read from Millar in a long time, plus Coipel’s art is amazing). And now without further ado, here are October comic as per solicitations:  

AMERICAN GODS: MY AINSEL #7 
(W) Neil Gaiman, P. Craig Russell (A) P. Craig Russell, Scott Hampton (CA) Glenn Fabry, Adam Brown. As Shadow follows Wednesday around the country, he eventually finds himself face to face with Laura, who lays down some difficult truths about the time she was alive and with him. The Hugo, Bram Stoker, Locus, World Fantasy, and Nebula award-winning novel and hit Starz television series by Neil Gaiman is adapted as a comic series!

FREAKANGELS TP VOL 1
(W) Warren Ellis (A/CA) Paul Duffield. Warren Ellis' hugely popular web comic, FREAKANGELS, is here, collected in print for the first time in this gorgeous, full-color trade paperback! The first arc of the ongoing, post-apocalyptic saga is a must-have for fans of the online series, or a perfect starting point for new readers! Twenty-three years ago, twelve strange children were born in England at exactly the same moment. Six years later, the world ended. This is the story of what happened next. So welcome to Whitechapel, some years from now, just barely above ground in a flooded England, where a clan of eleven strange people with purple eyes -- the Freakangels -- have carved out some sort of a life for themselves. MAGIC ORDER #4 
(W) Mark Millar (A/CA) Olivier Coipel. Cordelia and Regan bargain with Madame Albany to preserve what's left of The Magic Order, while she sets out to slaughter their brother Gabriel. Meanwhile The Horologium, a monster let loose from the fourth dimension, is shredding time and destroying human lives.

THOR #6 
(W) Jason Aaron (CA) Esad Ribic. ALL-FATHER THOR FACES HIS DOOM! If you thought Old Man Phoenix was crazy, then wait'll you see what we've done to Marvel's greatest villain. It's the end of the universe - and the return of Doctor Doom. A Doom more powerful than anything that has ever lived. Get ready for the greatest battle the far future has ever seen, as Old King Thor and the Phoenix Wolverine stand together at the end of time against an army of monsters and the final Doom. Rated T+

Octubre no fue precisamente abundante en materia comiquera, pero realmente disfruté releyendo Freakangels. Thor estuvo OK. American Gods estuvo estupendo pero Magic Order #3 fue incluso mejor (es lo mejor que he leído de Millar en mucho tiempo y el arte de Coipel es asombroso). Y ahora, sin mayores preámbulos, ahí van los cómics de octubre: 

AMERICAN GODS: MY AINSEL #7 
Mientras Shadow sigue a Miércoles por todo el país, eventualmente se encuentra cara a cara con Laura, quien establece algunas verdades difíciles sobre la época en la que estuvo viva y con él.

FREAKANGELS TP VOL 1
23 años atrás, doce extraños niños nacieron en Inglaterra exactamente en el mismo momento. 6 años después, el mundo terminó. Hoy, 11 extraños de 23 años de edad viven y defienden a Whitechapel, quizás el último asentamiento real en una Londres inundada. Esta es la historia de lo que sucedió después. Así que bienvenidos a Whitechapel, que apenas flota sobre una Inglaterra inundada, allí un clan de once personas extrañas con ojos morados - los ángeles - se han labrado una especie de vida para ellos mismos. THOR #6
