Behold the beginning of my Historical Sequence... so to speak. These sketches were, as usual, drawn with a 2B pencil and feature warriors from the past. Be warned: there is more to come.

Contemplen el inicio de una serie histórica, por así decerilo. Ambos bocetos fueron hechos con un lápiz 2B. Básicamente son imágenes de guerreros del pasado. Una advertencia: no son todos, hay más.
You can see this sort of image in every newspaper's article about Peruvian poverty. Not the same picture but the same message hidden beneath a recurring theme. It's a common image, something that most photographers would take... Why did I decide to pencil this (based indeed on such pics)? I'm not sure, I think someone at the BendisBoard may have suggested it.
The other one is just an attempt to create an odd looking character. By the way, don't bother trying to translate what he's saying. Yes, it's classic Greek alphabet but it's a made up word. 2B Pencil (both sketches).

Esta es una imagen típica, puede verse en todos los artículos de periódico que hagan referencia a la pobreza peruana. Es un tema recurrente. Y de hecho muchos fotógrafos se dedican a obtener este tipo de fotos. ¿Por qué decidí resumir este tipo de fotos en un papel? No estoy seguro, creo que me lo sugirió alguien en la página de Bendis.
Luego intenté crear a un personaje de aspecto singular y extraño. Los que han estudiado griego podrán darse cuenta que lo que dice está escrito correctamente, excepto que se trata de una palabra que no existe. Ambos bocetos fueron realizados, como siempre, con un lápiz 2B.
This is a personal favorite of mine. Lots of people about to attack a harmless couple. And somehow it all looks good enough. I made the original sketch with a 2B pencil. And afterwards a friend from ByrneRobotics was so excited about it that he decided to ink it. You can see the differences between both drawings. Which one do you like the most? Pencilled or inked version?

Aquí hay uno de mis favoritos. Un montón de gente apunto de atacar a dos indefensos sujetos. Y de alguna manera el resultado final es bastante aceptable. El boceto original fue hecho con lápiz 2B. Y luego un amigo de ByrneRobotics.com se entusiasmó tanto que decidió pasarlo a tinta. Hay obvias diferencias entre las dos versiones. ¿Cuál es mejor? ¿La versión a lápiz o la entintada?

There is one thing I wanted to do here: I wanted to see how many of those tubes I could actually fit in. I tried to arrange them in a realistic manner, but still some overlapping might be observed here and there.
The next drawing has several characters that while sharing the same space are still a bit too disconnected from each other, thus proving that it's not enough to pour in lots of people, you have to make it look like they're all there interacting.
Finally a fun "monster" themed drawing, which has scared people and an awful background that shows my inability to deal with perspective at the moment. I have improved since then, you just wait and see.

Quería lograr algo particular con esta imagen: llenar el fondo de tubos de una manera más o menos realista. Hay algunos tubos, sin embargo, que se entrecruzan con otros de manera más bien imposible.
El siguiente dibujo tiene varios personajes compartiendo una misma viñeta aunque se encuentran un tanto desconectados y dispersos. Ahí está la prueba de que no es suficiente con incluir muchos personajes en una página, hay que encontrar la manera de hacer que interactúen entre sí.
Finalmente, el divertido ataque de cierto tipo de criatura monstruosa pierde algunos puntos por los graves errores de perspectiva. He mejorado mucho desde entonces, por cierto.

She-Hulk! Well, not really. I guess it was a poor depiction of good old Jen.
These are some plain notebook sketches. The first one is just a face with a somewhat cartoony style. And the other one is just a collage of unfinished drawings done in the same page.

Estos son los típicos dibujos que hago en las páginas de mi cuaderno en lugar de tomar notas durante ciertas clases. En el primero me esforcé por hacer una cara de un estilo diferente al mío, en el segundo hay muchas imágenes sueltas, algo que suele ser la pauta en otras páginas de cuaderno.
This is one of my earliest attempts doing sequentials... I think the greatest thing about it is that a ByrneRobotic poster asked me "what is the secret?". And I replied "nothing". It wasn't a real story after all, just some images put together with some sort of internal coherence.
The other two sketches are really quick and rough, but I heard good comments about one of them. Guess which one... 2B pencil.

Este es uno de mis primeros intentos de hacer un cómic... Alguien me preguntó qué pasaba a continuación, cuál era el "secreto". Por supuesto, no había ningún secreto ni nada. Aún así me divertí al observar la curiosidad de otros por algo que, claramente, era un simple ejercicio de imágenes.
