April Comics / cómics de abril

I received some extraordinary comics in April. Silver Surfer and Infamous Iron Man were very good, but the conclusion of Unworthy Thor was even more special, not only because Aaron and Coipel are a great creative team but also because my letter was published in the letters column. The first issue of Shaolin Cowboy had some truly wonderful artwork (Darrow is always impressive). Cinema Purgatorio continues to be an amazing anthology and with only 2 issues American Gods is about to become my favorite series. And I’m also glad to have some classic material like Alan Moore’s Night Raven or George Pérez’s Wonder Woman. My favorite issue of the month was Providence # 12. And now without further ado here are April comics as per solicitations:

AMERICAN GODS: SHADOWS #2

The Hugo, Bram Stoker, Locus, World Fantasy, and Nebula award-winning novel and upcoming Starz television series by Neil Gaiman is adapted as a comic series for the first time!

CHAMPIONS #6

CINEMA PURGATORIO #9
(W) Alan Moore & Various (A) Kevin O'Neil & Various (CA) Raulo Caceres. Who doesn't have fond memories from their youth of sneaking into the theater to see a movie they were too young to view? But in this world of Alan Moore's surreal cinema, viewing those features can be hazardous to your sanity. Hiding in the back of the dark theater you wait for the feature to start and the ushers to leave… but something is horribly wrong. The air is so dusty it's hard to breathe and you feel like something is watching you. This is where the madness begins. Join a master class of horror creators as they spin stories to terrify and delight. Now showing: Cinema Purgatorio by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill, A More Perfect Union by Max Brooks and German Ponce, Code Pru by Garth Ennis and Raulo Caceres, Modded by Kieron Gillen and Nahuel Lopez, and The Vast by Christos Gage and Gabriel Andrade. Each story has its own cover by the series artist and there is also an Ancient Tome Premium edition limited to 1000 copies.

INFAMOUS IRON MAN #6
(W) Brian Michael Bendis (A/CA) Alex Maleev. Doom comes face-to-face with two of his most mortal enemies. Faces he never thought he would ever see again. MOONSHINE #6
'MOONSHINE,' Part Six-END OF STORY ARC! In the final chapter of the opening story arc, old scores are settled and much blood is shed as gangster Lou Pirlo finally comes face to face with the monstrous werewolf that's been hunting him for months!

PROVIDENCE #12
(W) Alan Moore (A/CA) Jacen Burrows. This is the issue when all you know changes. The finest horror work ever written comes to a conclusion you cannot imagine. All the threads are weaving into a tapestry of history re-imagined. Or was our history the fiction? Time to wake up, he who slumbers. This is Providence… or is this Yuggoth? Not an idle boast or bombastic hyperbole. This issue profoundly changes this entire series. DON'T MISS THIS ONE.

INFAMOUS IRON MAN #6

MOONSHINE #6
Capítulo final.

NIGHT RAVEN: FROM THE MARVEL UK VAULTS TPB

SHAOLIN COWBOY WHOLL STOP #1

WONDER WOMAN OMNIBUS VOL 1

The year has just begun and I’m celebrating with a quadruple overdose of Gillen! Two issues of Young Avengers, Three and Uber (that’s the good stuff). I didn’t think much of Inhumanity till I reached the final pages, what a surprising ending! My favorite issues of the month come from Dark Horse & Icon. I’m talking about the first issue of Shaolin Cowboy; it sure deserves a special award: great story and splendid art, I’ve always been a Geof Darrow fan and his Shaolin’s pages are unbelievably fantastic. SHAOLIN COWBOY #1

The Shaolin Cowboy returns, but nowhere in sight is there a dead Robin, any infinity gauntlets, or a single conquering Ultron-just flat-out action, intrigue, and plenty of roadkill. It's a metaphor, probably. • It's been one hell of a year. In two episodes, one before and one after the new year, the Young Avengers get resolution. You guys do as well.

SAGA OF THE SWAMP THING TP BOOK 05 (MR)

SHAOLIN COWBOY #1
I drew this in 2011 (page 2 of 7) / dibujé esto en el 2011 (página 2 de 7)

SIDEKICK #4 CVR A MANDRAKE & HIFI (MR)

THREE #3

VERTIGO ESSENTIALS Y THE LAST MAN #1 (MR)
