March Comics / Cómics de marzo

March was great not only because of spring break but also because of the amazing comics I got. First of all, I wanted to talk about Marvel’s Conan the Barbarian Omnibus, a beautiful edition with the entire Barry Windsor-Smith run! Fantastic Four and Thor were good, but Invaders was better. Conan the Barbarian # 4 was surprising, definitely the best one in the series so far. Oliver and Die are among the best this month, but if I had to choose my favorite comic, then it would be the first issue of Spider-Man: Life Story. And now without further ado here are March comics as per solicitations:

CONAN THE BARBARIAN: THE ORIGINAL MARVEL YEARS OMNIBUS VOL. 1

The greatest saga in sword-and-sorcery history begins - the saga of Conan! Born on a battlefield in the frozen lands of Cimmeria, Conan fights his way through the untamed Hyborian kingdoms, sparing no man, woman or wizard his wrath. His adventures will become legend. He will become king. Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith brought Robert E. Howard's iconic creation to four-color life with work that set new standards for comic book storytelling. Marvel is honored to present each story, each cover and each letters page - all painstakingly restored to match the majesty of the original editions. In these early exploits, Conan ventures from his homeland for the first time, honing his skills as a thief, mercenary, pirate and above all, warrior! COLLECTING: CONAN THE BARBARIAN (1970) 1-26; MATERIAL FROM CHAMBER OF DARKNESS (1969) 4; SAVAGE TALES (1971) 1, 4

CONAN THE BARBARIAN #4

KING CONAN REIGNS AS 'THE LIFE AND DEATH OF CONAN' CONTINUES! • A hard-fought life has rewarded CONAN with the crown of Aquilonia… • But even a monarch must face the cold embrace of death! • The legendary adventure continues as the CRIMSON WITCH makes good on her threat to King Conan! • PLUS: The next chapter in the ALL-NEW Conan novella 'BLACK STARLIGHT,' begun in issue #1! Parental Advisory

DIE #4
(W) Kieron Gillen (A/CA) Stephanie Hans. 'FANTASY HEARTBREAKER,' Part Four-Our heroes reach the civilization of Glass Town and do what heroes have always done upon reaching civilization. As in, go to the pub. As it's DIE, you can guess people don't exactly get happy drunk.

FANTASTIC FOUR #7

(W) Dan Slott (A) Aaron Kuder (CA) Esad Ribic. 'HERALD OF DOOM' PART TWO! • In a battle between Doctor Doom and Galactus, who would you favor… • A man who is trying to be a hero to his beloved nation or an unstoppable cosmic force of nature? • It's a simple choice, unless you're Mister Fantastic. • This dilemma, plus a strange new development in the life of the Human Torch. • And a long-forgotten threat from the Fantastic Four's past resurfaces… Rated T

INVADERS #2

(W) Chip Zdarsky (A) Carlos Magno (CA) Butch Guice. After the SHOCKING reveals about NAMOR last issue, THE HUMAN TORCH goes deeper into the Sub-Mariner's PAST, hoping to uncover his plan. But CAPTAIN AMERICA goes the direct route: TO ATLANTIS. Alone against THE MAD KING and his ARMIES in the exciting second chapter of WAR GHOSTS: THE AMERICAN AMBASSADOR! Rated T+

MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #2

(W) Charles Soule & Various (A) Paulo Siqueira & Various (CA) Arthur Adams. Three fantastic fables in one mighty magazine! First, a tale of Logan in the fabulous fifties! Three tales with echoes of the decade that began the Heroic Age-the swingin' 1960s! First up, Wolverine continues his vigil, bringing him to the worst places on Earth. Then, the co-writer of the award-winning March trilogy, Andrew Aydin, pens a tale of Captain America during the Civil Rights movement. Finally, an all-new story of Marvel's most famous son of the '60s - Spider-Man! Featuring a story by the co-writer of March, Andrew Aydin! Rated T+

OLIVER #2

(W) Gary Whitta (A/CA) Darick Robertson. Oliver learns a devastating, life-changing truth about his origins-and puts his entire adoptive community in danger when he rebels against the oppressive regime that rules over it.

PRODIGY #4

(W) Mark Millar (A/CA) Rafael Albuquerque. Crane's in a tricky situation in a Damascus poker room-there are guns at his head, and two million dollars of bribe money at stake. The cash could grant him access to the ancient ruins of Palmyra, and to the secrets of the scroll. Elsewhere, a blood ritual swears a new leader into power.

SPIDER-MAN LIFE STORY #1

(W) Chip Zdarsky (A) Mark Bagley (CA) Chip Zdarsky. In 1962, in AMAZING FANTASY #15, 15-year-old Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider and became the Amazing Spider-Man! Fifty-seven years have passed in the real world since that event - so what would have happened if the same amount of time passed for Peter as well? A special high-end limited series that's a part of the celebration of Marvel's 80th anniversary, SPIDER-MAN: LIFE STORY combines the talents of Chip Zdarsky (SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN, MARVEL 2-IN-ONE) and Mark Bagley (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN) to tell the entire history of Spider-Man from beginning to end, set against the key events of the decades through which he lived! In this first oversized issue, when Flash Thompson is drafted to serve during the Vietnam War, Spidey must weigh the question of where his responsibility truly lies! Rated T

THOR #11

(W) Jason Aaron (A) Lee Garbett (CA) Michael Del Mundo. PRELUDE TO THE WAR OF THE REALMS! Lady Freyja struggles to protect Asgard's refugees as Malekith's forces grow bold! But the All-Mother won't have to protect Midgard alone - enter Thor and his faithful dog Thori! The War of the Realms is coming - but the invasion starts here! Rated T+

CONAN THE BARBARIAN: THE ORIGINAL MARVEL YEARS OMNIBUS VOL. 1

Reimpresión de CONAN THE BARBARIAN (1970) 1-26; MATERIAL FROM CHAMBER OF DARKNESS (1969) 4; SAVAGE TALES (1971) 1, 4

CONAN THE BARBARIAN #4

¡KING CONAN!

SPIDER-MAN LIFE STORY # 1

T + clasificado

  1. The Spider-Man one seems like one I'd eventually read once there's a collected volume on sale.
